🧡 Keeping Our Students Safe: Allergy and Anaphylaxis Training 🧡

We are pleased to share that all staff at Moat Community College have now completed Allergy and Anaphylaxis training.
This follows the introduction of 'Benedicts Law' and strengthened allergy safety duties for schools in England, alongside new Department for Education statutory guidance designed to ensure a consistent and proactive approach to supporting pupils with allergies.

As part of the training, all members of staff have developed their understanding of how to:
🥜 Identify common allergens and help protect pupils from them
🔎 Recognise the symptoms of allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis
⚡ Respond quickly and appropriately to allergic reactions and emergencies

The DfE's statutory guidance requires schools to ensure that staff who are on site alongside pupils receive appropriate allergy awareness training, helping everyone to play a role in keeping children and young people safe.

At Moat, the safety and wellbeing of our students will always be a priority. By ensuring that all staff have the knowledge and confidence to recognise and respond to allergic reactions, we are continuing to strengthen our whole-school approach to safeguarding and student safety.
